The John Molson School of Business at the Concordia University has achieved EQUIS accreditation following a rigorous and selective assessment process.
Concordia’s business school is among the approximately 1.3% of business schools in the world to attain this status, which is granted by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). It is the 11th business school in Canada and the 18th in North America to earn EQUIS accreditation.
Combined with its AACSB accreditation, this distinction places the school among an exclusive group of just eight Canadian business schools — out of 83 universities offering business programs nationwide — to hold the prestigious double-crown status. Fewer than one per cent of business schools worldwide hold both EQUIS and AACSB accreditation.
The school earned high marks for its research in ethics, responsibility and sustainability, robust student support services, competitive case competition programs, hands-on learning experiences, strong industry ties, and excellent preparation for graduate employment. The accreditation is valid for a period of three years.
The EFMD benchmarks schools against international standards in key areas including governance and strategy, programs, students, faculty, research, internationalization, ethics, responsibility, sustainability and connections with practice.
