
Queen's University has announced the appointment of Wim A. Van der Stede as the new Dean of the Smith School of Business. His term will start 2026, July 1st.
Prior to joining the Smith School of Business, Dr. Van der Stede served as the Dean of Extended Education of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He led a wide portfolio of academic programs, including executive education offerings, long-distance degree programs, and LSE’s summer school.
Dr. Van der Stede holds a PhD in Economics from Ghent University and a joint MBA from Ghent University and Cranfield School of Management. His research specialty is financial management and management control with a focus on strategy implementation through effective organizational design, performance measurement, and incentive systems.
