The University of Victoria has announced the appointment of Bruno Silvestre as the new Dean of the Gustavson School of Business. His term will start 2026, September 1st.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Silvestre served as Dean of the Asper School of Management at the University of Manitoba after having served in multiple leadership roles. He brings a rich experience, both from industry and academic fields, with a focus on responsible management, inclusive development, community relations and fundraising.

Dr. Silvestre holds a PhD in Production Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, a Master in Engineering Sciences from the State University of Northern Fluminense Darcy Ribeiro and a Bachelor in Production Engineering from the Fluminense Federal University. He has taught an assortment of courses in operations management, supply chain management and sustainability and focuses his research on sustainable supply chain management, sustainable innovation, and learning.
