The University of Lethbridge has announced the appointment of Blake Phillips as the new Dean of the Dhillon School of Business. His term will start 2026, September 1st.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Phillips served as Director of the School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Waterloo. He brings a rich experience in heading coop-integrated undergraduate and graduate programs, guiding academic programming, accreditation, student services, coop, advancement, budgeting, human resources and strategic planning.

Dr. Phillips holds a PhD in Finance, a Master of Forestry and an MBA in International Business from University of Alberta, and a Bachelor Bachelor of Science from University of British Columbia. He has taught an assortment of courses in finance and focuses his research on mutual funds and institutional investors, hedge funds and risk management, market efficiencies and empirical asset pricing, and derivatives and risk management.
